On the problem of substituting self-gravitating disks in the potential theory

Abstract

Methods to construct the density distribution of circular self-gravitating disks, whose gravitational potential coincides with external potential of axial-symmetric celestial bodies, are considered. Such equigravitating disks exists not for any axial-symmetric body. In a number of cases the disk’s density can be found only by complex integration.
